Some instructors place their textbooks (and other materials) on reserve in the library so that all students have access to them without having to buy the book. You can only use the book in the library, and it is checked out to you until the end of the day.
You can use the scanners to scan and email yourself some pages, such as practice problems or definitions.
- Using PML Search, the main library search box, type in your course, professor, or textbook title to see if any of your textbooks are on reserve. For example, you might search "nursing", "NURS 352", "Austin", or "Active learning template notebook for nursing students".
- Look for a gray box at the top immediately under Search Results. The box will say Course Reserves. You can also look at the book location to see if it says Reserve (Circulation Desk).
- Come to the front desk of the library and ask to checkout the book for your class or professor.
- Scan your Skyhawk Card.
- Chat with us or ask at the front desk to see if there are any books on reserve for your classes.
- If there is no textbook on reserve for your class, consider asking your professor if they'll put the book on reserve in the library!
