Yes, with some restrictions. Bring your books to donate to the Dean's Office or front desk. A library staff member will ask you to fill out our gift donation form. Contact us if you have any questions.
The Library Gift Policy is as follows:
The University of Tennessee at Martin’s Paul Meek Library welcomes the donation of gifts and funds that will enhance the collections, facilities, programs and services to our constituents. Gifts and donations are accepted in accordance with the Library’s Collection Development Policy (available upon request).
The library reserves the right to accept or reject gifts, in whole or in part. The library also reserves the right to dispose of any portion of a gift that does not meet the Library’s collection development criteria. Gifts offered with restrictive conditions will be accepted only at the discretion of the Dean of the Library.
It is the library’s policy not to appraise gift materials (a position endorsed by the American Library Association and the Association of College and Research Libraries). If desired, the donor should seek appraisals by a qualified third party. The acceptance of a gift, which has been appraised by the donor or a third party, does not in any way imply endorsement of the appraisal by the library. Donors should consult a tax attorney or the Internal Revenue Services for additional information related to library donations.
