Broadly speaking, plagiarism refers to passing off others' ideas as your own without properly citing them. The Writing Center and the library can help with your plagiarism and citation questions.

Check out our Plagiarism Research Guide for tutorials, examples, and questions.

Business communication professor Lajuan Davis and UTM student Lacey Adams created the amazing Plagiarism PowerPoint attached below to help you avoid plagiarism.

The PowerPoint includes info on paraphrasing, common knowledge, types of plagiarism, what to watch out for, what to cite, and using APA citations. This PowerPoint covers only APA citations, but all the information about plagiarism applies to all disciplines and citation styles.

As an added bonus, the PowerPoint includes a Bitmoji rendering of our very own Chancellor, Dr. Keith Carver!

Note: Tutorials on MLA and Chicago styles coming soon.
